What is the position?
Cognosante is seeking to fill a Junior Cloud Admin position to work on the Service Desk, which is the first line of support for our customers, in support of VA (Veterans Affairs) Cloud Operations and Migration Services (COMS) to provide initial triage of Incidents, Requests, and alerts through various intake points. The ideal candidate possesses outstanding customer service, technical aptitude, and a desire to “own” customer incidents and requests to resolution. Work with teams of system admins to prioritize work and identify high risk critical problems and dedicate appropriate resources. The Full Time Junior Cloud Admin provides customer support, service, and technical support through analysis and problem solving via ServiceNow tickets, email and over the phone in a fast-paced environment.
What will I get to do?
The candidate can expect to walk callers through troubleshooting cloud systems issues, conduct advanced Cloud and application support, troubleshoot connectivity assure effective management, operations, and maintenance of systems and/or networks. The Service Desk analyst is responsible for resolving support requests as well as meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands. The Junior Cloud Admin will create tickets, support Azure cloud issues, address major incident management, monitor and support alerts, and provide effective communications with customers, support requests, and troubleshoot technical issues.
What qualifications do I need?
- Associate degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, related field OR equivalent experience (may substitute 4 years additional service desk or IT experience for degree)
- 5 years relevant experience
- Solid technical and troubleshooting skills
- Candidate must have experience in explaining highly technical data and information in simplistic grade school language for end users of complex IT systems and projects.
- Candidate must be able to use a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and scheduling tools.
- Candidate must have experience in being able to gather and convert data into a written narrative.
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Experience creating support documentation
What additional characteristics will help me thrive?
- HDI or ITIL certification
- Previous Federal Government experience preferably at VA
- One or more Microsoft or Amazon cloud certifications
- ITIL certification or experience with ITIL
- Active clearance for Public Trust (High-Risk) Position
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant hands-on cloud experience in administering Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure
- Experience writing technical documentation, especially in relation to AWS and Azure Cloud architecture
- Experience with network and/or systems administration in Linux/Unix environments
- Experience with IT Service Management systems like ServiceNow
- 6 months working knowledge of Active Directory
