Senior Software Developer (Java, .NET)

What does a successful Senior Software Developer (Java, .NET) do at Fiserv?

You will design, develop, and maintain complex software applications using .NET and Java technologies as a leader of our Output Solutions team working within an Agile development environment. Additionally, you will lead the technical design and architecture of high-quality, secure, reliable, and scalable software solutions that meet business requirements.

What you will do:

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that adheres to best practices and coding standards
• Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and code reviews while providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, helping others to elevate the team's overall skill level
• Work closely with product managers, designers, architects, and other team members to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Implement automated testing frameworks, conduct unit and integration testing, and identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to improve application efficiencies
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for code, APIs, and system designs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, designers, architects, and QA engineers, to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues that lead to implementing technical solutions

What you will need to have:

• 7-10 years of professional experience in .NET and/or Java software development within Agile methodology environments
• 7-10 years of experience in C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Java, and Spring frameworks while leading technical projects and mentoring development teams
• 6+ years of experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases (Microsoft SQL, MongoDB, Oracle, and Yugabyte)
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field

What would be great to have:

• 7-10 years of experience working with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular or React)
• 7-10 years of experience working with cloud platforms (AWS and Azure)
• 6+ years of experience implementing event driven architectures and solutions using Kafka
• 6+ years of experience with OpenText, Exstream, or Quadient technologies
• Master's degree
