Under close supervision, supervises patrons at the Tulsa County Parks Department splash park by performing the following duties.Job Description
All candidates conditionally offered transfer, promotion or initial hiring into a DOT/safety-sensitive position shall submit to testing for drugs and alcohol and test negative before performing any job functions that are safety-sensitive or require a CDL. External job applicants with a confirmed positive drug or alcohol test result shall be denied employment and shall be required to wait one year before applying for another position within Tulsa County.
Essential Job Functions
• Hand out bracelets to patrons before each session.
• Read and point out policies and rules of splash park before every session.
• Know and stand in proper safety areas of observation at all times while on the splash park pad.
• Monitor water slide and splash park activities during sessions and private rentals.
• Be watchful for non-swim diapers and talk with parents for education purposes.
• Maintain discipline on the splash park pad.
• Monitor regular sessions and private rentals.
• Observe and monitor the weather. Communicate with splash park manager to make weather calls.
• Use a whistle for safety warnings.
• Set up and tear down monitor station daily.
• Clean bathrooms and splash park area before and after each session and at end of night.
• Ensure patrons utilize the water slide in an orderly manner.
• Observe all water park activities to ensure a safe environment for patrons.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Skill in identifying unsafe behavior.
Knowledge of water safety; and of CPR/First aid.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time; to stand in extreme temperatures for extended periods of time; to handle stress and loud environments for an extended period of time.; and to handle angry patrons with respect and kindness.
Computer Skills
Ability to submit time in workday

Education and/or Experience
Attending or graduation from a four- year high school or GED. Must be age 16 or over with reliable transportation and phone access.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or nor variables.
