About the Position

In this role, you will...

• Clean and help maintain beaches, picnic areas, parking lots, playgrounds, restroom facilities, buildings, sports facilities, etc.

• Operate light automotive equipment, UTVs, light landscape equipment, ball field equipment, and hand tools. Update operating records.

• Keep schedules of maintenance for assigned area(s).

• Perform daily safety checks.

• Manage all service requests, maintenance projects, and work orders.

• Perform daily safety checks and repairs (as needed).

• Plant, fertilize, irrigate, mow, and maintain grounds/play areas.

• Remove refuse and paper from grounds and buildings.

Work Location:  Manasota Beach Park, 8570 Manasota Key Road, Englewood, FL 34223 (This position will report to Manasota Beach Park to service the Englewood route, to include Indian Mound Park, Cherokee Park, Blind Pass Beach Park, and Manasota Beach Park)

About the Schedule

Work Hours:  

• Full-Time, 40 hours per week. (Overtime may vary based on the season.)

• 2nd Shift: 1:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. 

• Work schedules can vary due to split shifts, rotations, on-call, emergencies, scheduled events, etc.

About You

Minimum Qualifications: 

• High School diploma or its equivalent.

• Valid Florida driver's license.

Preferred ("Bonus") Qualifications:

• Experience with small tools and lightweight maintenance equipment.

• Restroom, Facility, and Grounds maintenance.

Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds when using a dolly or cart, or assistance from another team member is available when lifting excessive weight. There is occasional work in high, precarious places and occasional work around fumes, airborne particles, and/or toxic/caustic chemicals.

Subject to Passing Substance Screening:  This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.  An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
