Data Engineer

<p><strong>A bit about the role:</strong></p> <p>Responsible for expanding and optimising HX’s data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimising data flow and collection for cross functional teams.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul><li>Create and maintain efficient data pipeline architecture (Extract, Load, Transform).</li><li>Design and implement solutions to support data lake and data warehousing infrastructure.</li><li>Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.</li><li>Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.</li><li>Engage with stakeholders in HX to understand our business processes and value drivers in order to capture business requirements in data modelling</li><li>Support the team through knowledge sharing, reviewing pull-requests and general feedback to your colleagues</li></ul> <p><strong>About you:</strong></p> <p><strong>Knowledge &amp; Skills:</strong></p> <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in IT, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or relevant experience</li><li>Speak and write English fluently</li><li>Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets.</li><li>SQL and Python knowledge and experience working with relational and non-relational data.</li><li>Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.</li><li>Knowledge/experience in DBT and Databricks is a plus</li><li>Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines</li><li>Experience with other programming languages is an advantage, but not a requirement</li><li>Power BI knowledge</li></ul> <p><strong>Key Personal Attributes/Behavioural Competencies:</strong></p> <ul><li>Strong problem-solving abilities - both analytical and quantitative​</li><li>Good organizational knowledge, ability to seek insight and anchor decisions where necessary​</li><li>Structured, inclusive &amp; positive, enthusiastic</li><li>Takes ownership and accountability, self-driven </li><li>Relationship building &amp; influencing skills.</li><li>Thrives in a high-paced, international, changing work environment </li></ul> <p><strong>Key Collaborations:</strong></p> <ul><li>Data Analysts / report builders</li><li>Executive Leadership Team</li><li>Commercial</li><li>Finance &amp; Accounting</li><li>Customer Service Center</li><li>Maritime Operations</li><li>Marketing &amp; Brand</li><li>People &amp; Culture</li></ul>
