About the role

Job Summary:
The Senior Director and Head, Clinical Trial Operations is responsible for overseeing the organization’s Clinical Trial Operations Center of Excellence. This key leadership role is accountable for driving clinical trial success across all therapeutic areas and regions, ensuring industry-leading practices, efficient processes, and optimal outcomes. Reporting directly to the Clinical Operations Leadership Team, this role is critical in advancing organizational goals through strategic development, operational excellence, and talent cultivation.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Oversight

  • Oversee the Directors of Clinical Trial Operations across key Technology Platforms: Intraocular Devices, Instrumentation, Extraocular Devices, and Pharma.
  • Provide strategic direction to Clinical Trial Leads (CTLs) managing Clinical Trial Teams and Clinical Trial Site Developers (CSDs).

Clinical Trial Operations

  • Build and enhance global clinical trial operations (CTO) capabilities, including planning, conducting, and reporting clinical trials.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all clinical trial deliverables in alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Drive the development and execution of clinical trials using best-in-class industry practices and advanced technology tools.
  • Guide CSDs in identifying, evaluating, and selecting qualified primary investigators and trial sites.

Strategic Development

  • Lead the strategic evolution of the Clinical Trial Operations Center of Excellence by implementing continual improvements and innovative solutions.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and communication to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Build and sustain a robust talent pipeline within global clinical trial operations.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and development opportunities for staff to ensure professional growth and organizational success.
