About the Role
Join our dedicated behavioral health team and enjoy a consistent caseload without the frequent cancellations and high outpatient productivity demands often found in traditional practice settings. Innovative Therapeutic Services (ITS) is seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist to provide behavioral health services to youth and young adults in a structured juvenile detention facility.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive clinical services including mental health assessments, crisis intervention, individual therapy, group therapy, family engagement, treatment planning, and clinical documentation while collaborating with an interdisciplinary behavioral health team.
Schedule & Availability
This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week. Work schedules are assigned based on the operational and staffing needs of the organization and the detention facility.
Applicants must have flexible availability. This position may require working:
- Daytime, evening, weekend, and company-observed holiday shifts.
- At least one evening shift each week (until 8:00 PM).
- Adjusted or rotating schedules based on staffing and client care needs.
Facility operating hours are:
- Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Saturday–Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Work schedules and assigned shifts are subject to change based on operational requirements.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of approximately 8–12 youth.
- Provide bi-weekly individual therapy, group therapy, and family engagement sessions (45–60 minutes).
- Facilitate weekly psychoeducational groups.
- Conduct mandated screenings, clinical assessments, and follow-up services.
- Provide crisis intervention and complete all required documentation.
- Complete daily clinical documentation in a timely manner.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, youth staffings, and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with behavioral health staff, detention personnel, and community partners.
- Maintain flexibility to work assigned schedules, including evenings, weekends, and company-observed holidays, as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
- Current, active Maryland licensure (LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-C, LGADC, LCADC, ADT, CSC-AD, or CAC-AD).
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional counseling experience.
- Experience providing behavioral health services to children and adolescents; juvenile justice experience is strongly preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and electronic documentation systems.
- Ability to successfully pass federal, state, and Child Protective Services (CPS) background investigations.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including daytime, evening, weekend, and company-observed holiday shifts based on organizational needs.
