Reviews accuracy and completeness of project work and information. Recommends approval or disapproval of project work. Directs activities of ADOT and consultant highway construction technicians. Approves and disapproves inspector work and diaries. Writes cost estimates and supplemental agreements.</span></p> <p dir="ltr"><span>*This position is eligible for a $4,000 hiring incentive</span></p> </div> <div> <span>Job Duties:</span> </div> <div> <p><span>Inspects and examines highway construction projects, diaries, computations, materials test results and other documentation. Ensures that project measurements and payments are In accordance with project plans, special provisions and supplemental agreements.<br/><br/>Confers with agency officials, staff members and representatives of other agencies to acquire information needed for immediate determinations and decisions.<br/><br/>Reviews project for design clarify, accuracy, and constructability; reviews specifications and special provisions; prepares detailed cost estimates, reviews construction schedule, and determines whether all supporting information has been obtained.</span></p> </div> <div> <span>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities (KSAs):</span> </div> <div> <p><span><strong>Knowledge of:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span>Principles and practices of civil engineering, as applied to highway construction Inspection.</span></li> <li><span>Computational and adjustment factors to be applied In the review and analysis of engineering data and land description data related to highway construction inspection.</span></li> <li><span>Federal and State statues Agency standards, policies and procedures applicable lo highway construction inspection.</span></li> <li><span>Computer program applicable to highway construction inspection.</span></li> <li><span>Principles of supervision and project management, an related rules, policies and procedures.</span></li> </ul> <p><span><br/><strong>Skill in:</strong><br/></span></p> <ul> <li><span>Analyzing and evaluating a wide variety of engineering data.</span></li> <li><span>Researching, reading, and interpreting a variety of technical engineering document such as survey data, highway plans, blueprints, specifications, materials testing data and computer generated data.</span></li> <li><span>Oral and written communications.</span></li> <li><span>Change order and technical writing.</span></li> <li><span>Organizing and prioritizing work </span><span>assignments.</span></li> </ul> <p><span><br/><strong>Ability to:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span>Use computational and adjustment factors.</span></li> <li><span>Use mathematical computations.</span></li> <li><span>Communicate written and orally.</span></li> <li><span>Safely drive a full-size pickup truck on and off-road.</span></li> <li><span>Work outdoors for extended time, exposed to heat, cold, dust and noise.</span></li> <li><span>Maintain professional, productive interpersonal relations with all highway construction partners and stakeholders.</span></li> </ul> </div> <div> <span>Selective Preference(s):</span> </div> <div> <p><span><span>Five (5) to ten (10) years minimal level of work experience.</span></span></p> <p><span><span>GED or high school diploma.</span></span></p> <p><span><span>Four (4) Year College Degree-Bachelor of Science is preferred.</span></span></p> </div> <div> <span>Pre-Employment Requirements:</span> </div> <div> <p><span>This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and  the following requirements apply.
