Part-Time Gifted and Talented (GT) Pull-Out Teacher

About the role

Primary Purpose

Plan, deliver, and evaluate instruction for students identified as Gifted and Talented (GT). Provide engaging, challenging, and differentiated learning experiences designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in GT students. Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families to support student growth and ensure program compliance.
 

Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or in progress.
  • GT Supplemental Certification or 30 hours of Gifted and Talented Training.
  • Experience with students in grades Kindergarten through Third Grade.
  • Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, enrichment strategies, and curriculum for gifted learners.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
 
 

Major Responsibilities and Duties

 

Instructional and Student Support

 
  • Develop and implement lessons aligned with the district GT curriculum and Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students.
  • Provide enrichment opportunities that extend and deepen students’ learning beyond grade-level expectations.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to engage GT learners.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly.
 

Collaboration and Program Support

 
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide strategies for differentiation and extension.
  • Serve as a resource for staff and parents regarding gifted education.
  • Assist in identifying and supporting GT students through screening and assessment processes.
 
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and program goals.
 

Professional Growth and Compliance

 
  • Participate in professional development related to gifted education and district initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines for GT programming.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit reports as required.
 
 

Working Conditions

**Schedule:** Part-time, flexible based on program needs and student schedules.
**Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:**
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and moving between classrooms/campuses.
  • Occasional lifting of instructional materials and student resources.
 
 

Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policy and program requirements.

* Please note that this role requires in-person attendance and is not eligible for remote work.
* $25 per hour
 
Sheldon ISD will accept applications for this position through September 29, 2025. After this date, applications will continue to be accepted in the event a suitable candidate is not identified.
