As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol key areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support daily operations by communicating clearly with staff and visitors, documenting observations, and responding to needs with a customer-first approach. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a logistics and distribution environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications per site procedures and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, including building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, as applicable to the location.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access by monitoring inbound and outbound traffic flow, checking doors, gates, and access points for irregularities, and reporting concerns through the proper channels.
  • Monitor security-related systems and activity, such as CCTV and alarm panels when assigned, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations by maintaining a visible presence near docks and staging areas, observing for policy violations, and reporting suspicious activity.
  • Complete detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations, including shift logs and patrol documentation, using site-required formats.
  • Assist with emergency and non-emergency situations such as medical calls, fire alarms, severe weather, and evacuation events by following posted instructions and directing people to appropriate resources.
  • Maintain professional communication with employees, contractors, drivers, and visitors, providing directions and responding to questions while following location policies.
  • Participate in site briefings and follow post orders, contributing to continuous improvement by reporting recurring issues, damaged equipment, and maintenance concerns observed during patrols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
