About the role

The Medical Imaging Analyst II will utilize both commercially available and proprietary image registration and image analysis software. They will independently execute date collection, image reconstruction, and data analysis after initial discussions with principal investigator. The Analyst II will also be the main person responsible for both routine and non-routine data processing and analysis of images acquired to support our research programs. The incumbent trains and oversees the work of residents, fellows, and other lab personnel. Individual will serve as a resource person both inside and outside of Mayo and represent the PI at external meetings. The Analyst creates new methods, procedures, protocols, and presents them to the investigator for use in the research program. In addition, the Analyst will execute experimental studies in support of grant commitments, including independent sub-projects. Designs and troubleshoots experiments and independently determines experimental progression. Analyzes and aids in interpretation of data, authors and co-authors papers and presentations. Depending upon assignment, the Medical Imaging Analyst may perform work in neural disorders, Alzheimer's Disease, kinetic studies, and other areas.

A Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics, or other related field of study is required. Additional graduate study or course work in specialty area or M.S. or equivalent is preferred. Requires two to five years of related research experience including experimental procedures, data analysis and interpretation, and development of presentation skills. Direct experience in one of these areas is desired: MRI imaging, image processing, and/or database management.

Qualifications preferred: 

Knowledge of programming, specifically MATLAB

Direct experience in one of these areas is desired: MRI imaging, image processing, and/or database management, capability of working with CT and micro-CT images.
