About the Role

We are seeking a skilled UI focused DevOps Engineer to join our team. You'll be responsible for the core technology that drives the Cloudflare Dashboard. You'll be pioneering new techniques and tooling to move away from a traditional monolithic application and onto Cloudflare's innovative Web Fragments. In this role, you will enhance UI infrastructure, streamline development workflows, and collaborate across teams to improve code quality and developer velocity. Your contributions will be pivotal in refining the developer experience, ensuring high-quality frontend delivery, and optimizing performance and reliability at scale. Our mission is to improve developer productivity and application performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines ensuring fast and reliable delivery across multiple product teams.
  • Develop and manage shared infrastructure components (CDN integration, observability and experimentation tools) with a focus on performance, security and maintainability.
  • Support front-end teams by troubleshooting infrastructure-related issues and advising on best practices when integrating with the UI Platform ecosystem.
  • Drive innovation by proactively identifying opportunities to improve developer experience and velocity, challenging existing workflows, and proposing creative, forward-thinking solutions.
  • Build internal UI features and tools that enhance the front-end platform ecosystem empowering teams to more effectively utilize shared infrastructure and services.

Technologies We Use

GitLab CI, Sentry, Amplitude, PagerDuty, React, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), Storybook, Playwright, Cypress, Vite, Webpack, Bazel, CI/CD tools, Go, RESTful APIs

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience.

  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure engineering, with a focus on supporting modern front-end ecosystems.
  • Strong background in front-end build systems, bundlers, and static asset optimization (e.g., Webpack, Vite, Bazel).
  • Expertise in CI/CD systems, automated testing integration (e.g., Playwright, Cypress), and front-end deployment workflows.
  • Passion for improving developer experience and enabling high-velocity front-end development through scalable tooling.
  • Proven ability to drive infrastructure projects independently (from problem discovery to solution delivery).
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to support front-end teams in troubleshooting infrastructure-related issues.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Webpack, Vite, Nx, or Bazel.
  • Strong grasp of front-end performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitLabCI, Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with integration testing and API mocking.
  • Understanding of frameworks like React, Aria-Components, or Remix.
  • Exposure to RESTful APIs and Microfrontends.
  • Experience building internal tools or developer portals.
