Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking to provide students of Boeing Manufacturing Accelerated Careers certified courses with the opportunity to join our 787 production teams working as an Aircraft Assembly Production Test Mechanic to support the 787-production system in North Charleston, South Carolina on a variable shift.

This role offers an exciting opportunity within a dynamic manufacturing assembly environment. Team members will leverage their prior experience, along with the knowledge gained through foundational training and certifications, to complete daily assigned tasks safely and with quality.

Individuals will be responsible for identifying their work locations on advanced airplanes, parts, and tooling by interpreting intricate drawings to accurately complete detailed work instructions. Attention to detail and procedure compliance is critical to identify all necessary hand tools, parts, and equipment required to ensure defect-free work. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Look up/read/comprehend electronic technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications.

  • Wear appropriate protective clothing/equipment determined by the task performed.

  • Operate various mechanical lifts (e.g. ladders, tiger and snorkel lifts).

  • Use various hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as screwdrivers, ratchets, power screwdriver multi meters, continuity testers.

  • Apply chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints and special finishes.

  • Inspect your work quality and check for Foreign Object Debris.

  • Work around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards/shock, e.g. circuit breakers and wiring) and exposure to constant noise.

  • Finger manipulation (keyboarding, other).

  • Lifting and carrying up to 10-35 pounds.

  • Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting).

  • Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching (overhead), rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking.

  • Perform functional testing of aircraft electrical systems and components as well as perform aircraft systems troubleshooting and fault repair.

  • Assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance.

  • Perform complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using
