Job Description
HII Mission Technologies Newport News Direct Support is seeking candidates to join our E25 Electronics Test Engineering team at Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News Virginia. Candidates with prior experience in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic systems, subsystems and components are encouraged to apply. This position is non remote and will support the Test Engineering team at Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News Virginia.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.Minimum Qualifications
- AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience, or HS + 5 years related (DoD/USN) experience.
- Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of UHF/VHF Communication Systems
- Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of Radar Systems
- Ability to interpret Electronic Diagrams and Technical Manuals
- Ability to Obtain/Maintain a SECRET Security Clearance
Preferred Requirements
- Prior US Navy Electronics Training and experience
- Prior US Navy Avionics Training and experience
- Prior experience with internal and external communications systems
