The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining workplace safety, ensuring the organization remains in compliance with all Federal & State safety regulations. This position will also be responsible for all minor repairs and management of the maintenance/facilities issues including, but not limited to; all warehouse equipment, trucks, conveyors, compactors as well as general property issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure warehouse meets or exceeds all safety requirements as set forth by OSHA and/or the Company; oversee all safety procedures and practices
- Partner with key business partners to ensure the warehouse facility meets all OSHA and company requirements
- Maintain up to date necessary certifications in warehouse equipment not limited to: Forklift, conveyor belt, commercial vehicle etc.
- Inspect building/racking structure and determine if repairs are needed
- Train employees on all warehouse equipment
- Maintain clean, safe work areas throughout Distribution Center
- Train and ensure compliance with all safety practices/procedures throughout the Distribution Center
- Ensure all Fire Extinguisher service schedules are up to date, and that all Fire exits are clear from pallets, product or debris
- Conduct quarterly safety training with staff
- Maintain vendor relationships
- Repair or coordinate repair of all material handling equipment (conveyor, compactor, drives, motors, put-to-light, etc.) in compliance with the work order policy
- Keep/maintain preventative maintenance records on all equipment
- Ensure all vending machines are stocked and work properly
- Manage badge entry system, including maintenance as well as issuing/removing users from company list
- Partner with leadership to conduct necessary training courses and/or meetings to comply with all OSHA and/or Company safety changes in regulations
- Assist construction department as needed
- Responsible for the preventative maintenance on all company vehicles

- Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance and appearance
- Adheres to all Company Policies & Procedures and Safety Regulations
- Adheres to local, state and federal laws
- Performs any other duties that may be assigned by management
- Understands and complies with all company rules and regulations
Qualifications
- Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism with all vendors
- Ability to work with computers and programs such as MS Office, MS Excel
- Must have some general electrical knowledge
- Must have the ability to learn/understand how new mechanical devices function with a capacity to bridge this knowledge into practical management of this equipment
- 3-5 years light construction/facilities/ warehouse experience
- Valid class C drivers license
- Understands and complies with all company and departmenta
