JOB SUMMARY:

Group Leader III employees will work in a variety of school age settings with children ages 5-12. 

The City of Lakewood is currently recruiting variable employees for this position.  A variable employee is an at-will employee who works in a seasonal or temporary capacity.  Their work schedule is based on business need.  This position would be a part-time non benefitted position.

Starting salary is $16.50 hourly but could be more depending on experience and qualifications.

MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Can act in place of a Site Coordinator and perform all supervisor related duties.

Participates in recreational activities.
Organize and lead all arts and crafts programs.
General supervision of small groups of children ages 5-12 at local elementary schools and on field trips to venues such as swimming pools, museums, and parks.

Provide exceptional customer service to all participants/parents/guardians in the SAS Program.
Work in outdoor and indoor environments.
Performs other duties as assigned such as light cleaning and administrative tasks.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have experience working with children.
CPR certification (or receive CPR certification within 2 weeks of hire).

Director Qualified must have at least three years (5,460 hours) of satisfactory and verifiable full-time or equivalent part-time experience and one of the following qualifications:

Complete six (6) semester hours, or nine (9) quarter hours in course work from a regionally accredited college or university: or Forty (40) clock hours of training in course work applicable to school-age children and the Department-approved courses in injury prevention, and playground safety for School-Age Child Cre Centers within the first nine (9) months of employment.

Must have at least three months (460 hours) of full-time or equivalent part-time satisfactory and verifiable experience working with school-age children.

Criminal background check is required.

Hours:
We are seeking candidates to work Monday-Friday between the hours of 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. Opportunities are available to work up to 40 hours per week during school breaks depending on qualifications and experience. Perfect for students or someone needing a flexible part time job. All job-related training will be provided by the City of Lakewood.

Pay Range

$14.42-$57.21
