Job Description
The Retail Merchandise Manager, Empower Field, will be responsible for product development and purchasing, will work to create and implement merchandise strategies, product assortments and merchandise display plans that enhance the brand, tell our client’s stories, exemplify quality, maximize revenue, profitability, and guest experience opportunities, while maintaining positive team, vendor, and client relations. This analytical, trend-aware individual will lead the delivery of key financial metrics, such as sales, and profit margins. Responsibilities include tracking open-to-buy, building pricing strategies, product development, purchasing and inventory management with additional focus areas in promotional activities, industry analysis, and oversight of visual merchandising. To be successful this individual must be confident, highly organized and an excellent communicator with an analytical mind and excellent negotiating skills.

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position ranges from $70,000 to $80,000 depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if applicable to the position). This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Job Responsibilities
-Product selection and development from inception to delivery, maintaining purchasing and inventory levels based on consumer and market trends, sales strategies, and financial goals as defined for each category and outlet.
-Utilizes reporting tools to review inventory, sales, and status of merchandise categories. Ensures integrity of database while creating requisitions and purchase orders utilizing the current POS system and PO tracker software.
-Control the inventory investment while maintaining sufficient inventory to support the sales objectives.
-Creates new items, maintains replenishment levels, and all product and vendor files in assigned categories.
-Recommends pricing, sales strategies, and assortments to be reviewed. Reviews and follow-ups on markdowns with scheduled pricing actions and location consolidation for maximum sales potential. Recommends liquidation strategies as needed.
-Development of promotional activities for key product collections. Communicates with Retail GM and team to ensure sell through.
-Oversees visual merchandising to ensure the look and feel of each retail outlet is set according to the company and clients standards presenting the highest quality experience for our guests.
-Reviews damaged and/or defective merchandise. Negotiates with vendor to return merchandise that does not meet our businesses specifications. Initiates the paperwork to accomplish the return and subsequent credit. Serves as liaison with Warehouse Operations team.
-On-site presence required during some major events and games including visiting all retail outlet to build knowledge of the business and our customers.
-Works to build and maintaining relationships and support greater Aramark team.
-Supports positive vendor relationships, manages vendor compliance and product pricing. Assists with negotiations of cost and payment terms of current products. Is aware of and communicates potential discounts, special pricings, inventory concerns and other issues impacting business.
-Negotiates with vendors concerning late shipments, back orders, and compensation discounts. Resolves all discrepancies including over and short-shipments, merchandise substitutions, and pricing differences. Serves as liaison with Accounts Payable team.
Qualifications
-Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing, fashion, or related field or equivalent experience
-Previous experience in merchandising or retail industry is a plus.
