Your Specific Responsibilities:
Located in the Division of Administration, Bureau of Finance and Accounting, Administrative and Financial Application Management Section, this position assists in providing analytical support for the design, creation, maintenance, and enhancement of departmental systems related to automated processing of financial data, financial applications, and financial systems in a SQL server environment. This position is responsible for application and system needs assessment for internal and web environments, application, and system design, developing project, functional, and technical specifications with logical flow charts or diagrams, and testing computer programs/reports. The person in this position reports to the Financial Manager I.
Design, develop, write, test, debug, document, and maintain computer programs and procedures in a .NET and other environments to automate department financial functions and provide needed reports.
Produce program code and procedures for downloading data as data sources for application developments.
Develop written technical documentation to describe an application/system’s tables, servers, and external data sources; data and role-level security requirements for the application/system, application data, application roles and process flows from a technical viewpoint; user screen interactions, data valuations, calculations, technical report specifications, file outputs including formats and layouts, folders locations and structures to support the application, technical requirements for automated emails and other design considerations.
Review, document, and assess current processes for the potential to automate; participate in discussions with end-users, application stakeholders, and other related personnel; develop presentations and other materials to assist in facilitating the meetings required for these discussions.
Develop written functional documents in prose, flowcharts, and other means to describe the business needs, the process stakeholders, the process business and user roles, the tasks performed within the process, mock-ups of output files, user interactive screens, and reports to be developed.
Provides back up support related to FLAIR security areas, Systems’ transaction validation activities, Systems’ daily processing activities, and Systems’ ad hoc reporting or data extraction activities when needed.
Completes special projects, performs other related duties and special projects as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of data processing principles, practices and techniques, multiple methods of data file processing, and data and system integration. Working knowledge of SQL Server application development. Ability to design, develop, test and implement systems of accounting or budgetary nature.
Qualifications:
Minimum - Must be willing to physically come in the office to perform the duties & responsibilities of the position .
Preferred -Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Visual Basic and SQL Server
