Cloud Software Engineer, Advisor

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to join our Cyber Intel team here in Laurel, MD. You will work within the Compute Team with a massively parallel enterprise platform, built with Java on Free and Open-Source Software products including Kubernetes, Hadoop and Accumulo, to enable execution of data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team and will be exposed to a variety of technologies depending on customer requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
• Shall have at least eight (8) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field is required.
  • An additional four (4) years of experience can be considered over the degree. 
  • NOTE: A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.
• Hadoop / Cloud Developer Certification or comparable Cloud System/Service Certification is required
• Minimally, the candidate should be skilled in Java, database technologies (MySQL Postgres etc) and have some experience with Map Reduce programming model and technologies (such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc)
• Possess additional knowledge of Linux OS development, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Ansible 

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
