Position Overview:

The Practice Manager is an integral role in Cayuga Health System's Ambulatory Services division. The Practice Manager will join a larger team of Practice Leaders driving patient care in the community. This leader integrates patient experience, operational effectiveness, and system outcomes by managing the day-to-day operations of the practice.

The manager is responsible for staffing and hiring, provider engagement, financial viability, business development, and operational workflows. The manager will create a culture of growth through improved patient access, patient satisfaction, and supporting the continuum of care for a seamless patient experience. A successful candidate will demonstrate leadership skills, inspire team members, and be a strong communicator.

What you'll do:

  • Manage a team of clinical and clerical staff and partner with practice provider leadership to ensure patients have timely access to high quality medical services.
  • Cultivate a relationship of mutual respect and trust with providers and staff. Embraces AIDET as a customer service framework for interactions with staff, providers, patients and their families.
  • Strive to meet operational, financial, and quality goals set forth by the health system; utilize financial and accounting systems to track expenses and revenue.
  • Maintain patient access through proactive schedule management.
  • In partnership with nursing leadership, support the clinical competencies of licensed and unlicensed clinical staff.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical and administrative policies and procedures and promote a culture of safety.
  • Hire and supervise staff; ensure practice staffing is sufficient to support the practice.

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3+ years of professional experience within a medical practice, hospital, or other healthcare setting with demonstrated supervisory responsibilities. At least 2 years of experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Accomplished people manager with strong coaching and mentoring skills; demonstrated experience cultivating strong, collaborative relationships with providers.
  • Bachelors' degree in health administration, business administration or a closely related field.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience may be accepted.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters' degree in health or business administration or related field. A masters' degreemay be substituted for 2 years of experience.

Travel Requirements:

  • The position is located on-site and travel locally to meetings will be required.
