Substantial travel is associated with the position. Those selected will be required to attend a mandatory virtual training. Overtime is expected.

A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.

Purpose
Educational Coaches (ECs) are activity and pedagogy experts for the GeoFORCE field academies. They ensure students are learning and work as a team with a lead summer coordinator and lead instructor.
Responsibilities
Lead classroom activities that review and reinforce material presented during the field portion of each day.
Facilitate student learning by circulating amongst student groups in the field and during lecture, observing students and asking the lead instructor to clarify points of confusion.
Assess and evaluate student learning by grading assignments and activities in the academy guidebook.
Guide and mentor counselors with assisting with reviews and activities.
Administer and grade the final project.
Familiarize yourself with the academy material by reading the guidebook before the trip begins.
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in education, STEM education, or a STEM field.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Classroom teaching experience.
Academic enrichment experience with secondary school students.
Spanish fluency desired.
Salary Range
$25/hour
Working Conditions

Climbing of stairs and hiking.
Will involve airplane, bus, and/or automobile travel.
