Senior Performance Marketing Strategist, Growth

As the Growth Acquisition Performance Marketing Manager, you will join a growing Marketing team that is focused on driving revenue growth through top of funnel marketing channels and paid media sources. The team is highly analytical and data driven, with a wide breadth of digital advertising experience, fundamentally growing and upleveling DigitalOcean’s approach to digital advertising. You will own the SEM channel, making strategic decisions that drive new user growth, leading to ROI-positive revenue growth. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, demonstrating strong attention to detail, and have the ability to work and learn in a fast-paced, complex and ever-changing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive performance marketing strategy and day to day management spanning paid acquisition on SEM platforms, paid social, paid media, sponsorships, paid influencer collaborations, and affiliate marketing to drive measurable growth and business impact.
- Continuously experiment across new and existing channels, identifying high-performing initiatives and scaling them into sustainable acquisition engines.
- Enhance attribution models, marketing technology, and automation processes to maximize efficiency and optimize for growth.
- Partner closely with marketing analytics, product, product marketing, developer relations, engineering, design and marketing ops teams to ensure a seamless, high-converting user experience tailored for both consumer and business audiences, while establishing new processes to enhance cross-functional team collaboration and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead A/B testing and data-driven experimentation to uncover valuable insights, improve conversion rates, and accelerate revenue growth while fostering a culture of rapid iteration and innovation.
- Communicate performance marketing strategies, insights, and results in weekly business reviews with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to drive alignment, secure buy-in, and inform key business decisions.
What We’ll Expect From You:
- 8+ years experience in enterprise-level global paid search and paid social strategy, campaign management and optimization, and budget management
- Implementation experience for internal advertising tools
- Proven track record of increasing ROI while driving revenue at scale
- Ability to generate reports on key performance metrics and clearly communicate the results
- Team player with a strong focus on cross-collaboration
- Proactive communication skills and ability to articulate plans and goals
- Understanding of SaaS-based business models, including concepts around monthly recurring revenue and pay-back periods
- Demonstrable critical thinking and analytical skills
- Must have extensive hands-on experience building and managing Google, Bing, LinkedIn, Meta and X campaigns.
- Experience with Affiliate Program Management, Display, YouTube ads & TikTok Ad Network a bonus.
