Responsibilities & Qualifications

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and supervise a team of configuration management specialists responsible for maintaining control over the hardware, software, and documentation baselines across complex information systems.
• Serve as the Configuration Management Lead or Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing strategic direction and oversight for CM planning, implementation, and compliance.
• Ensure lifecycle configuration baseline control for highly complex systems, including component software and hardware assets.
• Facilitate and advise the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Configuration Control Steering Group (CCSG) and Configuration Control Working Groups (CCWG).
• Review engineering change requests (ECRs) to determine potential impact on configuration baselines and associated logistics support.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date configuration control records and associated technical documentation.
• Work closely with quality assurance teams and management to ensure product baselines are consistent, accurate, and properly documented.
• Prepare and manage change directives, ensuring authorized implementation and traceability of configuration changes.
• Support configuration audits and assessments to verify baseline integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Provide subject matter expertise in the use of EDIFECS SpecBuilder for the development and maintenance of Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS) and ASC X12 Implementation Conventions.
• Develop and implement configuration management policies, processes, and tools aligned with DoD and industry best practices.
• Ensure compliance with DLA and DoD configuration management frameworks and standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience:

  • 10 years of relevant experience in configuration management or related IT/engineering fields.
  • Proven experience in leading or supervising CM teams within large-scale or complex environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with configuration baseline management and control processes.
  • Extensive experience reviewing ECRs and assessing impacts on system and documentation baselines.
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance practices related to configuration data.
  • Experience supporting DLA Configuration Control Boards (CCSG/CCWG) is highly desirable.
  • Expert-level proficiency in developing and maintaining DLMS or ASC X12 Implementation Conventions using EDIFECS SpecBuilder.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

   

  Certifications

  • Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority (e.g., Configuration Management II (CMII), IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management Professional (PMP)).
  • DoD 8570 IAM Level II Baseline Certification
    • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
    • CompTIA Advanced security Practitioner with Continuing Education (CASP+ CE)
    • Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM)
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • Global Security Leadership Council (GSLC)
    • Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO)
    • Healthcare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP)

  Clearance:

  • Secret - IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive clearance or Tier 3 (T3) investigation
