Director, Enterprise Data Steward – Master Data Governance (m/f/d)

<p>We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded <b>Director, Enterprise Data Steward – Master Data Governance</b> to lead the global data stewardship and governance function at Fresenius Kabi. In this pivotal role, you will shape and implement enterprise-wide governance standards, ensuring that our master data is consistent, accurate, secure, and fit for business use.</p><p></p><p>Acting as a key interface between business and IT, you will be responsible for translating complex governance requirements into practical data quality processes, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will also lead a distributed team of global and regional data stewards, with a strong focus on cross-functional collaboration and process harmonization.</p><p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li><p>Own and lead enterprise-wide master data governance within defined data domains (e.g., product, customer, supplier, material)</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with global, regional, and local Data Stewards as well as business stakeholders to ensure alignment on data quality and governance priorities</p></li><li><p>Define, implement, and monitor global data governance policies, standards, and best practices</p></li><li><p>Analyze data quality reports, identify anomalies, and lead corrective and preventive actions</p></li><li><p>Support enterprise projects involving data migration, system integration, or master data transformation</p></li><li><p>Develop and maintain process documentation, training materials, and work instructions related to data stewardship and governance</p></li><li><p>Promote continuous improvement of master data processes and overall governance maturity</p></li><li><p>Drive the development and adoption of metadata standards and master data management (MDM) strategies across systems and regions</p></li><li><p>Evaluate and guide the implementation of tools that support data lineage, stewardship, and policy enforcement</p></li><li><p>Partner with IT and business functions to integrate governance into data platforms and processes</p></li><li><p>Recommend enhancements based on data trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices</p></li><li><p>Support data literacy initiatives and contribute to organizational change management strategies related to data governance</p></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Your Profile</b></p><ul><li><p>8+ years of professional experience in data governance, master data management, or enterprise data stewardship, ideally in a regulated industry (e.g., life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare)</p></li><li><p>6+ years of experience leading distributed teams and managing senior-level stakeholders in complex, matrixed organizations</p></li><li><p>Proven success in developing and scaling enterprise-wide data stewardship and governance programs</p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of master data management principles, governance frameworks, and metadata concepts</p></li><li><p>Excellent working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP) and data management tools</p></li><li><p>Experience with data quality management, cleansing, and analysis tools is a plus</p></li><li><p>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented and structured approach</p></li><li><p>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in cross-functional and intercultural settings</p></li><li><p>Ability to explain complex topics clearly and influence at all levels of the organization</p></li><li><p>Proactive, solution-focused, and collaborative working style</p></li><li><p>Fluent in English and German (spoken and written)</p></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Why Join Us</b></p><p>Fresenius Kabi is on a journey to strengthen its data foundations and enable smarter, faster, and more reliable decisions across the business.
