Description
As a General Psychiatrist at Frontier Psychiatry, you will play a vital role in improving mental health outcomes in underserved communities. We are seeking a dedicated General Psychiatrist to provide remote patient care for our Alaska-based clients. This position requires availability during the hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM AST (Alaska Time). You will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Working remotely, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care while prescribing appropriate medications and developing comprehensive treatment plans. Your contributions will help deliver high-quality care to patients in rural areas through telehealth.Essential Functions
Patient Care:- Conduct patient evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments using evidence-based approaches.
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions for mental and behavioral disorders.
- Provide timely and compassionate care, aligned with the acuity of each patient’s needs.
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including primary care providers, to monitor and adjust treatment plans.
- Attend weekly Provider Rounds and monthly All-Staff meetings, maintaining open communication with colleagues.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic medical records.
- Ensure compliance with clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatry, participating in continuing education and training opportunities.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Education & Certification:- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency.
- Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry.
- Valid state medical license to practice psychiatry.
- Proven experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and telehealth technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatments, and medications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex patient cases.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ensuring effective patient and team interactions.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
