<p>Senior AI Scientist </p><p>Advanced NLP, DTA&amp;AI (Data Transformation, Automation &amp; AI)</p><p>London/Hybrid</p><p><br/>Our Advanced NLP team is a fast-growing group of collaborative, enthusiastic, and entrepreneurial AI experts within the IQVIA NLP organisation. We are at the centre of IQVIA NLP’s pursuit of using state-of-the-art machine learning methods to help customers leverage the value of unstructured patient data, social media and scientific literature, impacting pharmaceutical/MedTech development and care delivery from Bench to Bedside.</p><p></p><p>We are seeking a Senior AI Scientist to join our team of advanced researchers and engineers working to evaluate emerging techniques, develop novel approaches and prototype them ahead of incorporation in our platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your deep expertise in GenAI and LLMs to provide technical guidance and hands-on support as clients adopt GenAI/LLM solutions.</p><p></p><p>In this role, you will collaborate closely with clients and cross-functional teams, taking a hands-on approach to rapidly prototype, iteratively build, comprehensively test, and seamlessly deploy innovative products powered by GenAI/LLM technology at scale. Your responsibilities will also include blending research insights, technical skills, and business acumen to swiftly assess viability and translate cutting-edge concepts into client-ready deliverables. As a key team member, you will architect, develop, validate, and contribute to shipping polished solutions from proof-of-concept to full production launch.</p><p><br/>Essential Functions</p><ul><li>Partner with internal and external clients to understand business needs, ideate LLM-powered solutions that deliver value, and implement solution development.</li><li>Research, design, build, and train innovative applications of LLMs to solve complex real-world problems.</li><li>Conduct research and experiments to evaluate viability of proposed LLM implementations.</li><li>Design prototypes and POCs to demonstrate solution feasibility and value.</li><li>Lead build-out of production-ready LLM solutions, collaborating cross-functionally.</li><li>Oversee rigorous testing and validation of LLM products before client delivery.</li><li>Provide technical guidance to clients adopting LLM technologies.</li><li>Monitor latest advances in generative AI to identify new opportunities for clients.</li><li>Mentor and share knowledge with other team members on LLM best practices.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to LLM products in client environments.</li><li>Communicate compellingly about LLM capabilities and limitations to manage expectations.</li></ul><p></p><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Physics, Math, or related field.</li><li>Extensive hands-on experience using libraries such as HuggingFace Transformers, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.</li><li>Applied research background leveraging frameworks such as LangChain to build LLM prototypes, and knowledge of software engineering best practices for production LLM development.</li><li>Ability to clearly communicate complex LLM capabilities and limitations to non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>Experience working with large, real world datasets.</li></ul><p></p><p>Essential Personal Skills and Behaviors</p><ul><li>Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills</li><li>A commitment to working collaboratively and effectively with others in and across the team to accomplish goals</li><li>A commitment to timely internal and client communication; with clients, IQVIA project managers and team members, IQVIA colleagues and others </li><li>Proven time management and personal organisational skills</li><li>Lean experience desirable</li><li>Change management experience desirable</li></ul><p></p><p>The Team</p><p></p><p>IQVIA NLP is a leading provider of Natural Language Processing solutions focused on Human Data Science.
