Database Administrator

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team of qualified, and diverse individuals.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

 

• Implement and optimizes the computerized database systems that support the Company's or client's ability to function on a daily basis.
• Implement and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases.
• Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases in general. Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
• Maintain security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
• May develop stored procedures and/or triggers. Administers a variety of database systems ,such as Microsoft SQL Server, and other Database Management Systems (DBMS).
• Develop and enforces database administration and user standards and procedures; audits, modifies, and amends data in systems using SQL commands.
• Oversee the scheduling of database projects, database and transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication between multiple SQL Servers and remote sites.
• Assists Database Designers/Information System Analysts in the development and creation of SQL and Web-based databases and database systems.
• Review technical designs, reports, documentation, and other materials produced by staff; creates and maintains high-level reporting systems using products such as Crystal Reports; researches and implements new database and online technology.
• Create Oracle database form the DDL provided from Modern
• Create Oracle indexes, data views, user functions, column indexes and stored procedures
• Create SQL bulk inserts pgms to convert legacy data from flat files extracts
• Create stored procedure to grant access to stored procedures
• Validate data conversions
• Execute Oracal database status function to verify database integrity
• Develop conversion validation programs to verify all data was converted
• Hardened SQL database security from vulnerabilities
• Install and configure Oracle server instances

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years experience or Master's degree and 3 years experience or high school diploma/equivalent and minimum 9 years experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• 3+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
• Experience installing and configuring Oracle servers.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, and other Database Management Systems (DBMS).
• Experience creating Oracle indexes, data views, user functions, column indexes and stored procedures.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
