About the role

Primary Role:

The Surety Associate Account Manager works collaboratively with the Producer, Account Manager, Account Executive and Account Administrator servicing clients. Assists with day-to-day service for surety clients by maintaining client relationships, supporting client retention, maintaining strong carrier relationships and understanding client needs. This role is designed to build a foundational expertise in surety while supporting the broader team to achieve service excellence and client satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional, courteous service to our clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues, resulting in a rate of account retention that meets or exceeds expectations
  • General knowledge of surety industry and surety bonds.
  • Acquires understanding of clients’ surety objectives.  Stays abreast of changes in the surety industry and other external conditions that may impact their clients.
  • Oversees the preparation and implementation of all transactions, bond execution, and internal processing for assigned accounts
  • Troubleshoots billing issues
  • Appropriately documents conversations with clients and carrier representatives and updates all HUB computer systems and broker management system when necessary.  Ensures the accuracy of data and files in those systems
  • Provides assistance with clients’ service issues escalated by Account Administrator
  • Assists Account Manager and Account Executive in the collection of financial packages with clients for annual renewal of bond lines.
  • Supports marketing and RFP process as needed
  • Provide mentorship with Account Administrator
  • Coordinates client contact changes with Producer/Account Executive
  • Attends industry related events in addition to continuing education training and courses
  • Support multiple Account Managers and Account Executives with books of business
  • Taking on delegated tasks, and completing with open and consistent communication
  • Cover absences for Account Managers and other surety staff
  • Process incoming mail, email and phone requests from Surety companies and clients, responding promptly and appropriately
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least 2-5 years of related experience working as an Account Representative in the surety industry (equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable).
  • Client facing experience required
  • P&C License required or must be able to obtain within 120 days of hire
