As a Natural Resource Specialist 3 – Regional Habitat Biologist in Clackamas, Oregon, you will coordinate and implement various fish and wildlife habitat programs.
Program work involves being the primary point of contact for ODFW’s North Willamette Watershed District on habitat protection activities such as land and water permit review, in order to avoid, minimize, and mitigate impacts to fish and wildlife habitat.
Program work is guided by the Oregon Conservation Strategy, individual species management or recovery plans, regulatory requirements, and the Climate and Ocean Change Policy.
The position works closely with ODFW Habitat Division staff, ODFW District fish and wildlife biologists, numerous federal and state agency personnel, private landowners, as well as the private sector to accomplish the habitat protection and restoration goals necessary to achieve the agency’s mission.
Writing, public speaking, collaborative group participation, and outreach/education are essential communication functions in this position.
