Project Overview:

Bechtel’s focus on renewables and clean energy is helping our customers deliver transformational renewables and clean energy projects. Bechtel renewables team will perform the project management, engineering, procurement, and construction for a solar generating plant to be located in Mesquite, NV.   

Job Summary:

The Field Engineer - Electrical is responsible for overseeing operations within the applicable discipline and providing field engineering support with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover. Supports the Project Field Engineer, Superintendents, craft, and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and contractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Reports to Project Field Engineer for daily scheduled work priorities, and your work will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. 

Major Responsibilities:

Work Planning & Packaging 

• Prepares construction drawings and sketches. 
• Interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures.   
• Providing support to field supervision in establishing requirements for manpower, tools, equipment, and material requirements for a given work evolution.
• Developing installation work packages for scopes of work in support of the construction schedule.

Material Management  

• Initiates requisitions for field purchases 
• Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment. 
• Assisting field procurement in receipt inspection and reporting of associated equipment and materials and preventive maintenance requirements.

Quantities 

• Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.  

Safety / Quality Control 

• Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely. 
• Ensuring all installations are per latest revisions of design drawings, specifications, standards, and codes.

Technical  

• Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities 
• Performing inspections and initiating supporting documentation for all discipline system installations on an ongoing basis.
