Summary
Responsible for the preparation and sanitation of the Embrex equipment. Will mix all vaccines according to requirements as well as provide technical assistance as needed to the transfer crew.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- To be responsible for preparing all vaccine to be ready for the vaccination process, will be part of the transfer crew.
- To have the knowledge to troubleshoot the Embrex equipment. Responsible for weekly P.M. work in accordance to Embrex specifications. Assist transfer crews in setup of Embrex equipment to operate in a safe and efficient workspace.
- To be responsible for the proper mixing of all vaccines and sanitation solutions required for the Embrex process.
- To do quality control checks of vaccine and egg breakage. Do daily plating of vaccines to monitor bacterial growth. Do daily checks on egg breakage to determine quality of work being performed. Pass internal and 3rd party audits.
- Ensure farm racks and setter racks are being cleaned properly. Also ensure transfer tables and work area is cleaned properly.
- Responsible to maintain data and records on vaccines, eggs transferred and injections, etc. All data needs to be recorded accurately and submitted in a timely fashion. Enter QC checks and data into the Safety-Chain program
- Communicate with management issues and needs that arise in regard to transfer, process and personnel, Any other duties assigned by management.
Minimum Education
High school or equivalent
Experience Requirements
- 1 year of work experience in a related role; High school or equivalent; willing to learn and work.
Experience Preferred
- High school and 1 year experience in hatchery processing preferred. Some basic mechanical/electrical knowledge also preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Exposed to temperatures ranging from 60 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and humidities up to 100%.
- Exposed to chemicals, drugs and vaccines to be covered in MSDS training and hazardous communications.
- Use personal protective equipment as required.
- Ability to lift 4 lbs. to a height of 6 feet, to push 75 lbs. a distance of 75 feet and lift 20 - 25 lbs. to a height of 3 feet.
- Must be able to work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment.
