About This Role

Kidde Global Solutions has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer (Productivity) to join our Commercial Fire Engineering Productivity team. This team works alongside other R&D centers to identify, validate and implement Material Productivity projects for all Commercial Fire business units.  The candidate for this role will be responsible for building the project pipeline, executing selected projects, mentoring junior team members and supporting R&D teams with their productivity project efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with cross functional teams to build the material productivity project pipeline.

  • Leads sub-system development to ensure business objectives are achieved.

  • Lead the modification, design and development of simple and complex analog and digital circuits for fire alarm control panels, smoke/CO/heat detectors, notification appliances, power supplies and other auxiliary products.

  • Investigate the impact of proposed alternate sources for electronic components.

  • Create a build and test plan for alternate source components.

  • Contribute technical insight towards DFMEA analysis of new and existing electrical designs.

  • Perform advanced circuit analysis, validation, and optimization using simulation tools like PSpice.

  • Ensure product compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead product certification and listing efforts (UL/ULC, FM, EN54, CCCF, etc.)

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to optimize design for manufacturability (DFM).

Basic Qualifications  

  • 8+ years of experience with analog and digital circuit design

  • 8+ years of experience with embedded system architecture and development

  • 8+ years of experience with power supply design

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 12+ years of professional experience as an Electrical Engineer

  • OR

  • Master’s Degree

  • 8+ years of professional experience as an Electrical Engineer

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering

  • Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and reliability engineering.

  • Previous work in fire safety or other highly regulated industries.

  • Experience with multiple network, board-to-board and other communication interface topologies.

  • Proficiency in circuit simulation tools such as PSpice.

  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and signal integrity principles.

  • Ability and willingness to travel overseas to support Productivity events and project implementation (including, but not limited to: China, Mexico, Poland, Netherlands, Spain and India)

  • Ability to mentor and train junior engineers
