Purpose of Job

The Vendor Manager will manage PTW’s pool of freelance linguists, ensuring data is up to date and maintaining relationship with them under the direction of the Regional Localization Managers, and the Director for Localization.

Position in Organisation

A member of the Localization Team that reports into the Regional Localization Manager, and has no direct reports.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Active management of our supplier database.
  • Recruitment and onboarding of new vendors based on specific requests from TM or Director
  • Analyse language trends and filling any gaps in resources.
  • Update database with Quality scores for tracking and actively prompt PMs to provide them
  • Establishing, building and maintaining professional relationships to ensure linguist retention and engagement
  • Promoting newly recruited linguists to the relevant Projects teams
  • Compiling monthly reports on vendor recruitment and performance (extracted from existing database
  • Rate negotiations based on rates set by TM or Director
  • Assisting Production Teams with pre-booking resources for specific projects.

Other

  • Is responsive in email and chat communications, ensuring clarity in all messages sent.
  • Build effective relationships with internal teams to aid the growth of the translation business line (LQA, Sales and HR).
  • Adhere to company Security, Confidentiality and Health and Safety procedures and ensure the compliance of the team.
  • Adhere to the company IT and HR procedures and ensure the compliance of the team.
  • Understand ethical behaviour and business practices and ensure that own behaviour and the behaviour of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organisation.


Requirements

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

  • At least one year of experience in the video games industry and as a Vendor Manager.
  • Ideally, experience in the translation LoB.
  • Extremely high organization skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of business software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office).
  • Technically savvy.
  • Fast learner.
  • Clear and effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrates proactivity.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Keeps a “can do” attitude and positive thinking.

Qualifications

Ideally translation or language-related BA studies or other European equivalents.

Additional Information

  • Flexibility to work unsociable hours – at times will be required to work shifts, weekends or overtime during the week.
  • Proficiency in more than one language is welcome.
