About the role

Job Description

Tasks – What to expect from us:

  • Responsible to generate, promote, and evaluate innovative ideas across all the series released products, to reduce product costs, without compromising the product functionality, quality, safety, performance, and regulatory requirements
  • Analyze cost drivers, including materials, manufacturing processes, and supply chain factors, and propose cost effective alternatives
  • “Should-cost” analysis for engine and system components and assemblies, while documenting and reporting all relevant data
  • Benchmark products and processes to identify cost gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Conduct Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis to assess long-term cost impacts
  • Perform design-to-cost (DTC) and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) analyses to reduce production costs
  • Review and challenge supplier quotes using technical cost modeling
  • Accountable for driving cost reduction measures end to end and reporting the achieved savings towards the annual target
  • Collaborate with procurement to drive cost-effective sourcing decisions and act as a point of contact for the team’s Procurement related activities
  • Interdisciplinary cooperation with internal departments as well as with international suppliers


Qualifications – Who we are looking for:

  • Successfully completed technical or scientific studies
  • Several years of experience with multi-project management and cost analysis
  • Working knowledge of combustion engines and Generator Systems
  • Understanding of product design, development, change management, materials and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in SAP, aPriori, Should Costing tools, CAD and PLM tools (preferably PTC Creo and Windchill), ISO GD&T standards
  • Expertise in parametric, bottom-up, and benchmark costing techniques to estimate product costs
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English and German
