We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer supporting one of the premier programs within the Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) business unit, Global Positioning System (GPS). This role leverages and enhances your expertise in requirements clarification, systems engineering analysis, algorithm development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirements validation and verification — all critical skills that will directly contribute to the success of the program.

What You Will Do

• Provide technical analyses and define how the system works creating use cases

• Decompose requirements, define system interfaces and help determine how requirements will be validated and verified by the test team

• Provide engineering support for the execution of a portion of the programs test program including test processes and baseline definition, test architecture design, verification, and validation

• Support regression testing across deliverable releases to the program baseline.

• Support and attend technical reviews and technical interchanges in support of the program

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: operations concept development; requirements management; functional analysis/synthesis; interface definition and control; verification and validation

• Development experience on a government contract

Qualifications We Prefer

• Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle, roles and functions

• Good oral and written communication skills as well as good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment

• Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

• Experience in Satellite Command/Control, Mission Management or Planning

• Experience with Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, etc.)

• Experience working with requirements in DOORS or other requirements databases

• Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile development environment

• Scripting knowledge (e.g.: Python)

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
