Job Summary

Nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider who provides primary and/or specialty care in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions in collaboration with the health care team in accordance with certification and licensure. Practice emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems. Responsible for dissemination of knowledge through instructing, leading and developing educational programs.

                         

Job Details

The Cleveland Clinic Wooster Family Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Outpatient Hematology/Oncology team on a part-time basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to practice within one of the nation’s most respected healthcare systems, while providing personalized, high-quality cancer care in a community-based setting.

The APP will collaborate with supervising hematology/oncology physicians to manage adult patients with a variety of hematologic and oncologic conditions. Primary responsibilities include conducting follow-up visits, managing treatment-related symptoms and toxicities, coordinating care, and supporting patient education and survivorship planning. The position is strictly outpatient, with no call, weekend, or holiday requirements, offering an excellent work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and follow-ups in the outpatient clinic.

  • Collaborate with supervising physicians to manage chemotherapy and immunotherapy care plans.

  • Monitor and manage side effects of treatment and symptom burden.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and labs as appropriate.

  • Educate patients and caregivers on disease processes, medications, and care plans.

  • Coordinate care with infusion services, primary care, and specialty providers as needed.

  • Participate in quality improvement efforts and multidisciplinary team meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Ohio licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (Family, Adult, or Acute Care) or Physician Assistant.

  • National certification through an approved certifying body (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).

  • Oncology or internal medicine experience preferred; new graduates with strong interest in oncology will be considered.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
