As an Actuarial Analyst, you will apply knowledge of actuarial and data science to help implement loss forecasting analysis, conduct claims analysis, and support conducting ad hoc studies to mature loss forecasting tools and processes.
What You’ll Do:
- Support data/actuarial analysis projects for mid to large sized clients with medium or low complexity
- Conduct external statistical/actuarial/census/economic data research and present findings to team members
- Learn to implement formal exploratory data analysis for projects with support from senior and lead analysts
- Learn to participate in peer reviews and provide technical feedback to colleagues
- Support data science/actuarial/client account team projects through data gathering and analysis
- Support the development of reusable templates and reports for the data analytics team
- Collect, prepare, and analyze property & casualty policy, premium, exposure, and claims data from various sources.
- Learn to prepare actuarial analysis and summaries, including trend analysis and loss reserve estimation.
- Support formal exploratory data analysis to provide summaries in agreement with actuarial standards and practices.

- You have proven ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize key findings from sophisticated data from a wide variety of systems
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Actuarial Science or a similar quantitative discipline
- 1-3 years of experience in insurance or a related industry. Pricing experience is a plus.
- 1+ actuarial exam passed.
- At least 1 year in dealing with complex insurance data at an insurance carrier or broker with knowledge of at least one of the casualty lines such as auto, worker’s compensation, general liability.
- Fundamental understanding of corporate finance and accounting and it’s application.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience in Excel, VBA, and modeling languages (Python or SAS or R) for actuarial and claims analysis a plus.
- Prior experience with Tableau, Power BI, R-Shiny is a plus.

More About Us:
Compensation: Anticipated salary between $72,409.00 - $120,681.00. Salary offered will be dependent upon geography, experience, and expertise of the candidate.
This position is eligible to participate in an incentive program to earn additional compensation with a target equivalent to 8% of salary annually, based on individual and Company performance.
