About the role

Under general supervision, provides administrative and operational support to legal team to help accomplish department goals and objectives. Support can include, but is not limited to collecting information, completing standard forms, processing invoices, maintaining files, and receiving mail and calls.

This entry level position will report to our Scottsdale, AZ office under our hybrid work model.

What You'll Do:

  • Assists attorneys and paralegals in gathering standard information. This may include but is not limited to medical records, photos, police reports, statements, bills, guardianship materials, etc

  • Establishes and maintains department files, records management, and follow up systems. Creates and maintains various files and logs to assist in maintaining orderliness in recordkeeping

  • Receives, reads, and prioritizes mail and incoming calls. Responding to inquiries as possible, identifying time sensitive correspondence, and routing information to the appropriate area

  • Completes standard forms including, but not limited to basic pleadings, form discovery, and required documentation for e-filed court materials

  • Coordinates calendars for assigned attorneys and paralegals including entering trial notices/notes of issue on calendars; notifying insureds, witnesses, claim file handlers or other Sentry associates of key dates

  • Performs suit checks to ascertain if cases have be filed in various states and avoid default judgements

  • Assists with setting up new referrals for Staff Counsel. This may include but is not limited to conducting conflict checks, preparing basic materials, setting up file structure, and data entry.

  • Protects and maintains confidentiality and privilege of all legal matters

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned from time to time

What It Takes:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Typing and filing skills

  • Ability to prioritize work to meet external deadlines

  • Attention to detail and strong quality of work is essential

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision within time constraints

  • Previous legal experience and/or knowledge of legal terminology beneficial
