Datacenter Operations Technician

FocusKPI is looking for a Datacenter Operations Technician to join one of our clients, a high-tech SaaS company. 

Our client is seeking a data center technician to help maintain data center facilities around the globe. They will be part of a small but growing team of very talented people responsible for maintaining the cloud that hundreds of millions of people use to store their data.

• Works daily, on-site at a datacenter site in a given region (Hillsboro, Oregon)
• Reports to DCO manager or local region/site DCO lead

Work Location: On-site (US - Hillsboro, Oregon)
Duration: 12-month contract with potential for extension or conversion depending on your performance in the future
Pay Range: $25/hr to $31/hr

Responsibilities:

• Replace ticketed component (HDD, SSD, DIMM, PSU, fan)
• Receive/send packages for replaced components (RMAs)
• Assist with regular site maintenance activity (inventory, cleanup, etc.)
• Escalate complex and/or abnormal issues on site with the DCO team
• This role is not limited to a single data center location, and the role will support all Hillsboro, OR locations

Requirements:

• Experience with desktop PC and/or datacenter server hardware
• Experience working in a production data center environment
• Experience with handling some level of break-fix responsibilities, particularly
• Intermediate knowledge of Linux, operational understanding of and how to modify/add DNS zone files, experience using version control such as git or hg, basic scripting, and regular expressions
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Able to lift 20-30 lbs on a daily basis
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
