Job Description
IT and digital solutions are integral to Statkraft’s entire value chain. Our services and solutions are vital for data collection, analysis, exploration, production planning, monitoring, and sales, thereby enabling and safeguarding our core business processes and operations. As the global energy market evolves with increasing digital capabilities, our solutions are becoming more sophisticated and interconnected. The nature of our business necessitates that we develop many of our business-critical systems in-house, positioning us as innovation leaders in our sector.
The IT Project Management unit at Statkraft is entrusted with the management of all IT and digitalisation projects. This unit also oversees central test management and operates the IT Project Management Office (PMO).
The IT Project Management unit comprises approximately 20 seasoned project managers based in Oslo and Düsseldorf. These professionals serve in projects across all Business Areas and countries, up to the needs of the top management team. As a Senior Project Manager you will:
- Assume responsibility for delivering solutions to the IT and digitalization challenges we encounter as a significant contributor to the renewable energy industry.
- Manage projects using waterfall or agile methodologies or opt for a hybrid approach as needed.
- Plan, control, and execute complex and business-critical IT and Digitalisation projects, with a primary focus on the business areas of Energy Management, Energy Trading and Origination, Enterprise Architecture, Finance and Risk Management, and Regulatory Reporting.
- Facilitate and ensure collaboration within the project team, which comprises colleagues from various IT units and business departments, all working towards the common goal of delivering valuable results.
- Engage with and serve as a partner to internal customers, project owners, and key stakeholders, striving to achieve high customer satisfaction by managing expectations, addressing customer feedback, and maximizing the business value provided by the project.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who are high performing individuals with drive, high ethical standards, and with a clear “can do” attitude. We believe this includes:
- A higher education degree at university level or equivalent (Master’s degree or equivalent) in related fields
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in managing business-critical IT and digitalization projects, preferably gained from consulting firms or similar roles in global industrial companies.
- Experience in managing projects within one or several areas of competence such as software and solution development, M&A, cloud, integration, cyber security, acquisition, and implementation.
- Strong communication skills and a talent for building network and trusted relationships
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage risks and uncertainties, while keeping the project on track.
- A keen interest in green and renewable energy, information technology, and curiosity about people and their motivations.
- Fluency in both English and German.
- Preferably, experience with agile IT project management methods (e.g., Kanban, Scrum, SAFe), software tools, methodologies, and best practices in this field.
- Preferably, certifications in project management such as PMP (Project Management Professional), Prince2, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
