About the opportunity:

This is an incredible opportunity to work at a high-growth technology company at the intersection of data science and education technology. Reporting to the CEO, you will work closely with the rest of the executive team.  

We are looking for a seasoned strategist who understands current marketing best practices and trends and is experienced in marketing for technical audiences. As the CMO, you'll oversee and implement a holistic marketing strategy across all our channels, including digital. You'll own the strategy for our core and new products. 

The successful candidate will come with a solid experience in customizing marketing strategies to different segments such as B2C, SMB and Enterprise. The CMO will motivate and manage a team and be responsible for the budget for the consumer, SMB and enterprise business lines. 

As a member of our senior management, she or he will be comfortable in a leadership role that requires excellent communication skills. 

Objectives and responsibilities:

  • Advisor to CEO: as a member of the executive leadership team, you will contribute to the wider discussion, strategy and execution of DataCamp’s agenda and ambition with an entrepreneurial lens. 
  • Responsible for defining, implementing, and owning an end-to-end marketing strategy across all channels with a focus on balancing growth and investment efficiency.
  • You will orchestrate and own the execution of the marketing plan with responsibility for $6M+ marketing budget.
  • Responsible for all broad marketing related functions, e.g. marketing design, growth, organic social media, paid social media, etc. 
  • Spearhead our DataCamp Donates and DataCamp for the classrooms programs for non-profit organizations and universities.
  • Work closely and in collaboration with the CRO and sales organization to understand their objectives and challenges across geographies, segments, and channels to produce effective demand generation campaigns and messaging.
  • Inspire and manage your direct reports and develop and build a best in class marketing team.

Skills and qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in senior marketing leadership roles, in high-growth SaaS companies with an international scope.
  • Effective communicator able to build relationships to drive organizational change.
  • Productive prior partnerships with sales leaders. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a reputation for integrity and ownership.
  • Knowledgeable about current marketing best practices and trends. 
  • Experience  in both B2C and B2B marketing, ideally for technical audiences.
  • Experience marketing to multiple segments - Consumer, SMB, Enterprise.
  • Thrives in a metric-driven environment.
  • Ability to orchestrate global teams spanning numerous time zones.
  • Ideally based in NYC or remote East Coast.

It is a plus if you have:

  • International experience, specifically UK and continental Europe.
  • Experience in a remote organization across multiple time zones.
  • Prior experience with a product led growth.
  • You are passionate about Data and AI.
