The Amgen Thousand Oaks Cellular Sciences organization is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and team-oriented individual with a background in Cell Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or any related field for the position of Process Development Associate, to join our Global Critical Reagent Team. The Global Critical Reagent team serves our global Amgen network with the creation, inventory and distribution of critical reagents required for characterization, in-process and release testing of Amgen biological products. The PD Associate will work with a team of dedicated scientists to support the creation and characterization of ready-to-plate cell banks, Amgen’s Biosimilar products, as well as conjugation of antibodies and proteins used in Immunoassays. The successful candidate will be able to perform experiments independently, organize and analyze results using integrated digital documentation and data visualization tools. In addition, the PD Associate will work with client and partner organizations and represent the Global Critical Reagents team in scientific and cross-functional meetings.
Responsibilities:
Support the team in the distribution of critical reagents to all Amgen’s sites.
Management of a complex inventory database and inventory forecasting and planning
Support the team in Creation and characterization of adherent and suspension cell lines to create robust and high-quality cell banks for use in Quality Control cell-based bioassays.
Support the team in conjugating antibodies and proteins used in immunoassays
Support the team in managing and distribution of Reference products for Amgen’s Biosimilars.
Communicate effectively and efficiently with cross-functional team members, clients, and partner organizations.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree OR
Associate’s degree and 2 years of chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology or other science related experience OR
High school diploma / GED and 4 years of chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology or other science related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Detail oriented and excellent documentation skills; Demonstration of proficiency in digital data analysis and visualization.
Experience in digital inventory database management.
Strong and broad skills using the tools and techniques of Project Management; specifically, knowledge of SharePoint and Smartsheet.
Communicates effectively with others, using appropriate diplomacy and sensitivity; makes others feel respected, valued, and understood; works well in teams.
Advanced scientific/technical reading/writing skills, advanced scientific analysis skills, and advanced laboratory work skills

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
