Position Summary
The Associate Director, Internal Communications for Animal Health IT is responsible for the internal communications strategy, plans, content, and execution for the Animal Health IT organization. In this role, you will work closely with our network of regional and divisional communication colleagues to activate integrated communications strategies and help tell the authentic story of Animal Health IT and engage our colleagues. You will be an active partner within the IT organization, helping elevate and communicate initiatives focused on making IT at our Company a place where people love to come to work and are enabled and inspired to do their best. You will work with people at every level to develop internal communication plans and materials that engage and educate our diverse employee population and support a culture of transformation.
The Associate Director, Internal Communications - Animal Health IT must be passionate about creative storytelling and have a comfort level operating and driving initiatives within complex, matrix organizations, focusing on employee engagement. This position requires a strategic communicator experienced in various communication and disciplines to support divisional communication needs. This role must implement an integrated, surround-sound approach, be willing to test new communication channels, and have the technical knowledge to post content and images on digital, internal platforms.
Principal Responsibilities
Internal Communication:
Develop and drive communications that engage and inspire employees around the Animal Health IT and IT organizations' priorities and principles.
Develop communication plans that think long-term, tying multiple communication moments together into broader strategies.
Execute integrated communications and marketing strategies that bring the Animal Health IT Priorities and IT narrative to life, further strengthening and elevating a shared vision across the IT organization, providing the right information, to the right stakeholders, at the right time.
Experiment with new, creative ways to reach employees with the news and information they care about and drive their engagement in prioritized organization initiatives.
Research, write, edit, and publish communications with an obsession for quality and accuracy.
Serve as a trusted internal communications partner and strategic advisor shaping and driving communications opportunities and synergies across thought leadership strategies for teams across the IT organization.
Advance storytelling efforts across global and division audiences by developing journalistic outcome-focused success stories centered on the business, strategic programs, senior leadership.
Ensure communications are compelling and aligned with our desired voice and tone. Counsel and support business functions and senior leaders on their internal communication needs.
Routinely measure and report to stakeholders regarding the impact of internal communications.
Develop LinkedIn strategy for AH IT leaders, in alignment with broader IT LinkedIn strategy
Engagement & Event Management:
Ensure cohesive, omni-channel storytelling through on-brand creative, informative, and engaging content, including journalistic outcome-focused success stories focused on the business, strategic programs, senior leadership.
Support divisional leadership on key internal communication, marketing, and engagement activities.
Plan, manage and execute internal events on behalf of divisional leadership (e.g., Town Halls, TechTalks, internal and external speaking engagements), including developing content and copy, coordinating event logistics, hosting live events, and providing event support.
