About the role

POSITION SUMMARY

U.S. AutoForce, a division of U.S. Venture, Inc., brings together more than 100 years of experience as an industry leader in the distribution of tires, and lubricants to independent tire retailers, auto repair shops, and automotive dealerships.

Responsible for general building maintenance, maintenance of equipment associated with machine production, and distribution of products through preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance. Will service as shunt truck driver to assist various shifts.

Schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm or until work is completed. Overtime and occasional Saturdays required as needed. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform site inspections and preventative maintenance, care, and upkeep of grounds, buildings equipment, and machines to ensure effective operations

  • Troubleshoot and perform minor equipment repairs

  • Communicate with customer as to what work was completed and/or what the next steps will be to complete the job

  • Assist in the development of preventative maintenance programs for properties and equipment including performing preventative maintenance, determining scheduling frequency, and development of procedures

  • Educate on basic preventative maintenance procedures and adjustments to settings to improve efficiency.  Actively participate in process improvement

  • Communicate repair work with Operations Manager for requesting technicians and/or mechanics.

  • Manage spare part inventory

  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools

  • You should be willing and able to work on your feet for extended periods of time and work overtime as needed

  • Contribute to our culture of safety, ensuring adherence to all safety policies and operating procedures

  • Proficient in performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles

  • Ability to train others as it relates to maintenance processes

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift products weighing up to approximately 80 pounds.  Handling of tires (e.g., rolling, destacking, team lifting) greater than approximately 80 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Protective equipment required: steel or composite toe boots, safety vest, harness, seatbelt, SRL (self-retracting lifeline).  All equipment is provided by U.S. AutoForce except for steel / composite toe boots.

  • Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Fumes associated with tires and occasionally car parts and lubricants prevalent.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Degree or Equivalent, with a technical degree a plus

  • 2 years of building or machine maintenance experience preferred

  • 1 years’ work experience; driving experience preferable

  • Electrical/Controls experience or certifications a plus

  • Ability to follow directions and safe operating processes

  • Effective communication skills with good organizational and time management abilities

  • Ability to be trained and use powered industrial trucks

  • Ability to supervise or lead others

  • Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word as necessary

  • Experience with high-speed manufacturing and converting equipment

  • Understanding of predictive, preventative maintenance concepts and commitment to continuing education

  • Strong communication skills and self-motivated

  • Ability to problem solve while managing multiple priorities while working as part of a team
