About the role
Role and Scope of Position:
Design and implement new systems and features, as well as modify and maintain existing systems for adaptation to business and/or technology changes. Engages directly with IT management, development teams, technical delivery teams, and vendors to ensure the successful design, development, and delivery of technology-based solutions.
Drive the software change and release management processes, assisting with the overall maturity of the software development lifecycle. Work independently with little supervision. Ensure that software deliverables comply with quality standards and are completed on time.
This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office.

- May manage moderately sized projects or processes with moderate impact on the achievement of discipline results.
- Work is performed with minimal oversight.
- Typically, responsible for coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower-level professionals.
- Provides measurable input to new products, processes, or standards in operational plans to implement business strategies.
- Problems and issues faced are numerous and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem.
- Owns functional area; major portion of application development architecture, such as entire Front-End or Back-End
- Problems are difficult and often complex.
- Problems typically impact multiple departments or specialties.
- Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experience and analysis of issues.
- Responsible for making moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance performance of work area.
- Communicates with parties within and outside of own discipline.
- May have responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.).
- Works to influence parties within and outside of the job function at an operational level regarding policies, procedures, and practices.
- Contributes to software development processes
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Preferred Technical Knowledge/Skills:
- Advanced or higher skills in the following:
- SQL
- C# / .NET
- Angular
- Azure Devops, including CI/CD practices and working with pipeline releases
- TDD / SOLID principles, creation of unit-testable code, and use of code coverage metrics
- Intermediate or higher skills in the following:
- Powershell: Able to create / modify basic Powershell scripts to support tooling for local development
- Postman: Able to create / modify postman scripts including tests for happy / unhappy paths
- Azure: Understanding of Azure components that relate to the ecosystem - VNets / Data Factory, SQL PAAS objects, Azure Active Directory basics, Application Insights / Log Analytics / KQL
- Agile / Scrum: Familiarity with Agile practices, and how to “shift left” with development to testing to ensure effective use of capacity at the beginning of a Sprint
- NodeJS
- Basic or higher skills in the following:
- Docker: Able to perform basic docker operations and create / amend build files
- Kubernetes: Basic understanding of how Kubernetes orchestrates containers and able to write / amend yaml files
- Automation: Understanding of browser-based automation test tooling
- Linux: Basic Linux command line operations
Other Key Skills:
- Independently scopes and implements larger user stories for their project/team.
- Handles open-ended problems & ambiguity well.
- Makes well-reasoned software design decisions, identifying potential issues, tradeoffs, risks, and the appropriate level of abstraction. (e.g. research spikes with results captured in ADR's, etc..)
- Maintains awareness of industry trends and tools.
- Stays current.
- Can navigate and make legacy code maintainable.
- Possesses a deep expertise in one or more areas
- Elevates testing practices.
