About the role
The R&D Engineering Co-op position is for our Product Excellence Group focused in the Commercialization Engineering, Process Engineering or Process Systems Teams. The co-op will be assigned a mentor and at least one “real world” project to complete during their assignment.
- Initially the individual would be expected to become skilled at making and testing paint.
- They would be responsible for assisting in optimizing formulations and processes through Design of Experiments and statistical analysis of the data.
- Potential to work with Operations for site projects. We are looking for innovative thinkers that are proven problem solvers. They will also be expected to participate in monthly and quarterly meetings presenting their work as needed.
- This position is for a minimum of 6 months with the option of being extended to 12 months.
EDUCATION
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Must have a minimum 2.8 GPA
- Must have a HS diploma or GED
Preferred
- Junior or Senior class standing is preferred
- Chemical Engineering major
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Must have access to reliable transportation and housing
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred
- Skilled at using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Basic understanding of information technology infrastructure and computer platforms
- Working knowledge of Minitab and Business Objects
