About the role

Company Description

Through the centralization of all publishing work across the PM agencies, Publicis Media Exchange (PMX) launched a new team called The Edit.  The Edit is a team of experts responsible for thought leadership, innovation, negotiations, tactical planning, investment and the future of connecting brands to premium editorial content.  We are looking for talented and highly motivated team members to join the growing group and help drive all aspects of executing publishing campaigns. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

A position on The Edit team is one that will give an employee the chance to be an expert in all areas of Publishing, having the opportunity to lead agency projects and grow their career by working with agency managers, across a variety of brands/verticals, as well as new business teams. The person in this position will experience all aspects of publishing (planning, buying, negotiating, post campaign reporting, training, etc.). This person will also work collaboratively with Strategy teams and industry vendors. The publishing marketplace is continually evolving with more innovative offerings in the areas of digital, social, data partnerships, eCommerce, content, etc. It is an exciting time to work in publishing!

Job Description

  • Support development of Publishing plan recommendations including, but not limited to – evaluating RFPs and special unit proposals, cost out, YOY plan comparison, positioning requests, etc.
  • Support development of negotiation strategies by title, informed by YOY client spend and industry trend data.
  • Negotiate Publication pricing, positioning, added value
  • Meet with vendors to stay on top of marketplace and cultivate relationships within the vendor community
  • Develop collaborative working relationship with strategy teams
  • Manage, train, and develop Jr. Associates, including:
    • Checking employee work to ensure accuracy
    • Continued participation in training offerings
  • Inspire creativity and innovation with team members

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in media planning & activation, inclusive of standard industry research tools and processes
  • Working knowledge of 360 publishing, as it relates to magazine and newspaper, ideally national and local
  • Excellent understanding of media math fundamentals
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint capabilities
  • Ability to prioritize and organize projects for self and Jr. Associates in a timely manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to tell stories through data, presentations, and verbal communication
  • Understanding of proper business etiquette and protocols
  • Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail and organization
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills, plus multitasking abilities

Additional Information

Compensation Range: $51,000 - $73,500 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
