Role and Responsibilities
The Director, Product Management – Software will report to Head of Product GTM and is responsible for ownership of the end-to-end B2B Go-To-Market (GTM) plan and accountable for B2B business goals at the product level.
- Owns software life-cycle management in the intersection of software and hardware, and driving innovation with the R&D division
- Responsible for setting the teams product strategy (Knox, software) & publishes the Market Requirements Document (MRD - includes TAM, value proposition, use cases, investment, etc.), owns the number (revenue, marketshare, profitability, WOS, etc.), owns GTM plan (product, place, price, promotion)
- Develop and implement software offerings for PC (Chrome and Windows PC)
- Develop and manage implementation of special software offerings - Tactical Edition, C rom, STIG, etc.
- Build and manage a high-performing team.
- Gain and maintain a deep understanding of sales process across all product categories and routes to market.
- Responsible for team that assesses Samsung current product portfolio capabilities, identifies gaps in product offering and successfully brings to market new innovative product categories with unique go-to-market strategies - inclusive of business case and execution plan.
- Determine a POV and create business case (consisting of market opportunity, P&L assessment, system, headcount, implementation plan, etc) for implementing new hardware offerings. Outcomes could include implementation of following recommendations: M&A, partnerships, 3rd party outsourcing, white-label, cross-divisional integration, incremental headcount, system investments.
- Establish and manage cadence with ops, sales, finance, marketing to review the performance of product category from sell-in/sell-out perspective across all RTMS and accounts. Hold all stakeholders accountable to delivery of the number - address gaps, manage pivots, etc. Provide direction on strategy adjustments to ensure attainment of business goals.
- Assist in shaping the roadmap via
1) Voice of Customer and Voice of Partner
2) in-depth competitive evaluation and gaps
3) perspective and insight on market trends
And establish cadence with SRA and HQ R&D.
- Work with Samsung Alliance/Partnership teams and partners (Google, Intel etc) to drive unique GTM activities
- Serve as Product Category spokesperson (external) and evangelist (internal)
- Interface with analysts
- Own presentation content for delegation meetings
- Co-sign B2B AP1 prior to B2C AP2
- Participate in Deal Desk and set direction for promo planning to ensure sustainable pricing strategy
- Develop and launch services bundling strategy for all hardware in coordination with Hardware/Software Category leads
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 12+ years’ relevant experience with BA Degree; 10+ years’ relevant experience with MA Degree computer science; engineering
- 10+ yrs. experience in developing enterprise mobility solutions with a keen focus on security
- 5+ yrs. experience working and collaborating with technology partners to develop business solutions
- Full understanding of how to manage end-to-end product lifecycle, from idea inception through development and launch
- Excellent written & oral communication skills with proven ability to provide clarity in complex situations
- Experience producing highly effective presentations to communicate with internal and external customers, and executives.
- Passion for creating great customer experiences and for solving problems
- Ability to work without supervision, quickly, and thoroughly to prioritize and complete tasks and meet deadlines
