What You Drive at DDC
Application of engineering principles to test and validate complex powertrain controls software, functions and features that set the industry benchmark for performance, energy efficiency, cost, reliability and safety. Work closely with software developers, feature owners and software testers to create HIL test plans, validate operation of propulsion systems software and hardware on Hardware in the Loop (HiL) test platforms, process and analyze test data and create reports. Configure HiL systems to correctly execute testing campaign including but not limited to adapt wiring and harnesses, flashing ECUs, run HiL readiness tests and troubleshoot issues. Maintain operation of HiL platforms with updates to interface models, system hardware, user interfaces, ECU communication models and test automation as required. Design, build, validate, document HIL I/O circuits and wiring harnesses to interface with HIL simulator, ECUs and subsystems’ sensors and actuators. Integrate dSPACE SCALEXIO hardware and Matlab/Simulink SW models with existing I/O CAN communication using RTICAN-MM. Develop and calibrate real-time plant simulation models for diesel, fuel cell & electric powertrain including components like engine, aftertreatment, transmission, battery, inverter, charger, e-motor, fuel-cell, etc for HiL realtime closed loop simulation. Develop and calibrate communication models and ECU behavioral models for powertrain ECUs simulations and integrate them into HiL framework. Maintain and align a HiL test case database in conjunction with powertrain feature & test engineers both regionally and globally within Daimler Trucks. Develop smart and automated end-to-end toolchains to track test coverage from SW requirements, through test specifications and test execution to verdict reporting and issue tracking. Troubleshoot and provide creative, technically-feasible solutions for any HiL related issues in a timely manner. Proactively inform management of project issues, delays and risks. Develop, integrate and use graphical user interfaces and visualization tools. Work cross-functionally with feature owners, test engineers, software developers, and CAE engineers to incorporate and adapt best practices to real time HiL based validation testing.
