Geosyntec has an opportunity for a limited-term, part-time Senior Consultant (5 hrs/wk), in our coastal engineering practice in the Mt. Pleasant, SC office. This position is well-suited for a talented, highly experienced individual who is interested in assisting with due diligence and site evaluation efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec’s culture. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you’d work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities and mentoring tasks. Some of the key responsibilities may include:
- Pile design for fixed and floating dock systems in coastal and inland water systems.
- Marina and waterfront Due Diligence inspections and evaluation
- Project/task management and proposal preparation support;
- Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications.
- Fieldwork associated with design, inspection and construction services;
- Effectively stewarding and building client relationships to repeat business; and
- Developing business opportunities with new and existing clients and preparing associated proposals.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in civil, structural or coastal engineering or a related field. (required)
- Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
- Professional registration (i.e., P.E, ). (required)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- At least 15 years of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Knowledge of relevant civil and structural engineering software (e.g., L-pile or similar)
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
- Fieldwork and overnight travel may be required.
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
